Supporting design proposalRETRACTABLE SERVICE STEM
Stowed-to-connected suit interface
The proposed upper-back service connection between VANTARA and a compatible recovery node.

FIELD DOSSIER / TQ-36
Service / retractable upper-back link
- Target mass
- 0.8–1.5 kg dry assembly
- Target size
- 220 mm stowed / 450 mm extended
- Fit / configuration
- Upper-back suit interface
Proposed stem and connector assembly; suit capture structure excluded.
Travel and enclosure are packaging targets; channel geometry, loads and seal qualification remain open.
CURRENT STUDIES & ORIGINAL REFERENCES
Every angle. Every detail.
Roam stowed; connect after capture
The visual arrangement places the suit service stem at the upper back and the compatible umbilical at the node rotary port. The star beacon remains a separate discovery cue. These are mounting and connection proposals.
Independent physical checks
Structural capture, engagement, seal and valve checks precede transfer. Close and verify channels, disconnect and retract the stem before releasing capture. Travel, connector dimensions, load limits and materials are not approved.
